I’ve always loved LEGOs.  Hmm, can I honestly say that?  I’ve never actually owned one single LEGO as a child but I’ve always wanted to!  The building possibilities are endless!  You can build life size creations out of LEGOs or small castles for Barbies or forts for GI Joes.  Does GI Joe have a fort?  I don’t know but I think he should and I hope to build him one…some day.

 

I’ve already bought a few LEGO sets for my little girl even though she’s too young to play with them right now.  Just to make sure all the pieces were there, her Daddy and I assembled them and reassembled them a few times.  LEGOs are so much fun, I can’t wait until she’s old enough to play with them.  Her cousins have a room dedicated to nothing but LEGOs.  The Hobbit LEGOS, Star Wars LEGOs, and about a bazillion tiny LEGO bricks.  It’s pretty cool!

LEGO is without a doubt a household name and a brand that children {and adults} have loved for years.  Recently, they’ve opened up a great new YouTube Channel with OVER 500 videos spanning a wide range of topics!  This is fabulous on so many levels.  It’s designed as a space that is trustworthy for kids but I can attest that adults will find it entertaining as well.  Plus, my daughter has starting to watch YouTube videos more and more.  She loves them!  If you have kids you know that they love repetition.  That means that I end up watching the same video over and over.  With LEGO’s channel I don’t have to!  I have the option to create my personalized playlists.  This is handy if I want to leave her with the iPad while I vacuum or empty the dishwasher real quick.  She’s happily entertained and I know that she won’t be exposed to anything I don’t want her to be.

Life Lately: Trampoline Park, Super Bowl, & More!

My little girl had so much fun at her friend’s birthday party last week!  This was the first time we’ve been to a trampoline park but it certainly won’t be the last.  That place was awesome!

Here’s a picture capturing sweet Daddy & daughter time before bed.  It warms my heart!

Last week went by insanely fast, so I guess it only makes sense that this one felt sluggish and rough.  Even though it was stormy and rainy today we’re supposed to have temperatures in the high 70’s for the next few days.  That would be nice!  Some of our family should be visiting in a few weeks, that is, if everyone can stay well.  {This month has been awful for illness, hasn’t it?}  That will be a nice break from our regular routine and if the weather’s nice it would be a good chance to get out and enjoy it.  It’s hard to believe the Super Bowl is this weekend!  While I’m not one to really care about The Big Game (you know the one!), but you can guarantee that I’ll watch the commercials.  After we TIVO it that is.  I have my Big Game nail art all ready and ready to cheer on…wait, I haven’t consulted with my husband about which team we’re cheering for.  Can you tell I have no clue about football?  I know my husband likes the Georgia Bulldogs and Mark Richt but other than that I’m clueless.

Living on the Edge

Living on the Edge

 

Living life on the edge means you’re continually at the point where something may begin, or not begin, depending on your choices.

 

That’s where I’m at.  Right now.

 

I’m looking around, waiting, praying that God will guide me into choosing the right edges to step onto next.  It’s easy to rush ahead without seeking God’s guidance and I promise you, it’s much more comfortable to stay right here where I’m at.

 

But God never called me to be comfortable, right?  The truth is, I’ve made mistakes before.  I’ve endured the consequences of my poor choices and the hard falls that came because of those choices.  They make me a little more than timid about being on the edge.  Those past failures make me want to hide in the deepest darkest of the mountain, alone and having my own pity party.

 

God has forgiven me of those mistakes and I feel that it’s time to move on.  God wants me out there on the edge watching and waiting for new opportunities to glorify Him.  I want to live life with the constant awareness of the opportunities around me.  Opportunities to serve others, to minister, and sometimes just to listen.  I want to be watching with a mind-set that is expecting marvelous possibilities to appear at any moment.

 

Can you relate?  I have a decision weighing on my mind and it’s all I can think about.  I’m trying to decide whether I should attempt something and possibly fail or if I should not even try and live with regret.  Without spilling the beans, I can say that this is a big decision and I would love your prayers.  It’s a God-sized dream, if you will.  It’s BIG.  Either God will bless it and it will succeed wildly or it will fail and I’ll be humiliated.  Because I’ve prayed about this and I’ve had the desire to do this for a while I’m leaning towards making the leap.  I’ll keep  you updated!

 

Living on the edge is far from comfortable but I think it’s a place where we realize we’re not the ones in control.  When we surrender ourselves and look to God for direction, He’ll guide us.  When we feel uneasy about stepping into the unknown, we must remember that He is always there with us.  That’s why the edge is a great place to be.
