Welch’s 100% Grape Juice Review

Welch's LogoI absolutely LOVE juice!  Let me clarify, I love 100% juice.  Not only that but when I buy juice I want it to be 100% of the juice that is advertised on the front of the package.  For instance, 100% grapefruit juice, 100% pomegranate, 100% blueberry, etc.  You can usually spot these because their price is a little higher than the bottles with “100% juice” that is mostly apple juice.  I find these 100% juices to be better tasting and I know they are better for you!

Welch's

A few days before I was asked to participate in this Welch’s Grape Juice tour I had bought a bottle of Welch’s 100% Grape Juice  (because it was on sale and I had $1 off coupon!).  I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it and I raved to my husband about it for days!  I’ve always been a big

fan of juice but I haven’t had grape juice in the longest time.  I think the reason is because I’m clumsy and  grape juice doesn’t come out of clothes too easily.  Well, from now on I’m just going to have to be super careful because I love this stuff!  Did I mention that Welch’s Grape Juice is made from Concord grapes, has no sugar added, and it contains Vitamin C?  It’s true and it also has no artificial flavors or colors.  What’s not to love?

Not only does Welch’s Grape Juice taste good, but it is good for you too!  Just a half a cup offers a full serving of fruit.  Because it’s made from Concord grapes, it has antioxidants along with a mix of plant nutrients called polyphenols, which may benefit heart health!  By the way, did you know that March is National Nutrition Month?  I’m learning so much today!

Family vine tool

In addition to diet and exercise, our genes also play a part in our heart health.  Welch’s knows this and believes that in order to have optimum health it’s important to know what conditions existed in our family previously.  To help everyone trace their family health history Welch’s created the Family Vine Tool.  This is where you can trace family health history, update it as things change, and print it out to take to your family doctor.

Welch’s didn’t stop with the Family Vine Tool, in order to help people learn about health conditions and how grapes can help, they created the Concord Grape Science Center.  I had no idea that grapes were so beneficial!

In addition to promoting heart healthfulness, Welch’s has prepared recipes for creating delicious meals and snacks with vibrantly colored fruit.  You can find an abundance of fun recipes in the Welch’s Recipe Box.

I had painted a purple flower to show off Welch’s Paint it Purple slogan but I can’t get the photo to load on the computer so you’ll have to wait for that unveiling. 🙂

For more information on Welch’s you can connect with them on Twitter (@Welchs) and through their Welch’s Facebook Fan page.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Welch’s and received a product sample to facilitate my review and a gift code to thank me for taking the time to participate.

Clorox ToiletWand Review & Giveaway

While I love a clean home I don’t always like cleaning.  I go through phases where I want the kitchen sink spotless or the floors vacuumed daily but that’s not the norm.  In order to avoid a heavy spring cleaning I try to keep up with cleaning year round…try being the key word.  I’m a huge fan of FlyLady and her cleaning zone method!  She recommends breaking up your house into zones where you’ll focus on a new zone each week and spend 15 minutes a day on that zone and an additional 15 minutes decluttering.  I love to break up cleaning into small chunks of time.  I find it much easier to do any task for 15 minutes a few times each day instead of spending a few hours once a week.

My tips for spring cleaning:

  • Set a timer
  • Play upbeat music
  • Declutter first

Cleaning toilets isn’t just a spring cleaning task but one that should take place regularly.  Let’s face it, cleaning a toilet isn’t something anyone enjoys!  Clorox and Mom Central gave me a ToiletWand to review in hopes that it would make my cleaning a bit easier and I want to tell you about my experience with it.

My ToiletWand cleaning kit included a ToiletWand handle, six refills, and a storage container.

How Clorox ToiletWand works:

Put the ToiletWand handle into the storage container and snap on a refill.  Dip the want into the toilet water and clean like usual.  Once finished carry the wand over the trashcan and press the release button to drop the refill into the trash.

Pros:

  • It’s attractive enough to leave in your bathroom.
  • Cleaning solution is built in.
  • It cleans well.

Clorox ToiletWand

Cons:

  • One time use only, expensive for homes with multiple bathrooms.
  • Difficult to snap in refill without picking up and putting on by hand.

My recommendations would be for Clorox to remake the bottom of the storage container with a non-skid base and a narrower storage area that way it would be easier to attach each refill.  I tried to reuse the disposable refill in another bathroom but there wasn’t enough solution left.  I know it wasn’t meant to be used more than once but with three toilets in our home the cost of these could quickly add up.

In summary, I recommend the Clorox ToiletWand for families with only one bathroom and who would like the convenience of only storing one item instead of two (standard toilet cleaner and toilet wand).

The Starter Kit retails for $10.00 and the refills for about $5.00.  Clorox is offering our readers a $3 printable coupon here: http://bricks.coupons.com/Bstart.asp?o=84354&c=CL&p=sqpfkzZP

One Embracing Beauty winner will receive a Clorox Bathroom Essentials ToiletWand prize pack including a ToiletWand, bathroom rug, toilet decal, and toilet paper holder.

Do-It-Yourself: Freezer Paper Stenciled Onesies

Onesie

I’ve recently been introduced to a simple way to stencil baby onesies!  Gabriel’s Good Tidings will take you step by step to get the look you want.  This  seems like a fun and inexpensive gift for yourself or for someone else!

I can’t wait to give it a try but I plan on using my Cricut to cut out the stencil  for me so I don’t have to do it by hand.  If you have a friend who owns a Cricut or a similar device I would recommend asking them to cut out your design for you to save you time.

Thanks, Money Saving Mom for sharing this super cute and frugal idea!

The Dangers of Facebook

Facebook

Like many things in life, Facebook can be both helpful and hurtful depending on how you use it. How much time you devote to any website will help determine how healthy the relationship is, as sites like Myspace and Party Bingo should have already taught us. For me, one benefit to Facebook is that it allows me to easily connect with friends and family who live out of town.  We can share pictures, articles, and even play games together.  Another big benefit is that it allows me to connect with you, my readers!  I’ve loved the opportunity to pray for you about problems in your life, learn new coupon strategies from you, and just to interact!  I’ve read several good posts on the dangers of Facebook lately so instead of trying to put the articles into my own words and cite them as references I’ll just give you the articles I’ve read.
