Nature Made Prenatal Multivitamin + DHA *Giveaway Ends 11/25*
Nature Made was the first OTC brand to launch a Prenatal Multivitamin with 200mg DHA in one single softgel so that expecting moms/nursing moms would only have to take 1 softgel per day.
One softgel offers:
200mg DHA
800mg Folic Acid
Vitamins A,C,D and Zinc
Iron
B – Complex (Vitamins B6, B12)
EPA/DHA, Niacin
What is DHA?
DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays an important role in brain development, especially during the critical period of fetal development and infancy. DHA is transferred directly from the mother to the fetus during brain and retina development or to the infants through breastfeeding. Recommended DHA dose is 200-300 mg/day.
What is Folic Acid?
Folic acid, sometimes called folate, is a B vitamin (B9) found mostly in leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, orange juice, and enriched grains. Repeated studies have shown that women who get 400 micrograms or more (0.4 milligrams) daily prior to conception and during early pregnancy may reduce the risk that their baby will be born with a serious neural tube defect (a birth defect involving incomplete development of the brain and spinal cord) by up to 70%.
How do the the vitamins, iron, etc. play a part in overall health?
Vitamins A, C, D & Zinc – Support Immune System Health
Iron – Supports Blood Cell Production
B – Complex (Vitamins B6, B12) – Supports Energy Metabolism
EPA/DHA, Niacin – Support Heart and Circulatory Health
My Thoughts:
My family doctor recommended that I start taking Prenatal vitamins a year or so before I even thought about trying to get pregnant. I’ve always liked Nature Made products in general and I think it’s great that they now have a OTC Prenatal vitamin in one softgel pill. I’m not sure about everyone’s insurance but if a company didn’t cover Prenatal vitamins I’m sure Nature Made would be a first choice for them!
While Nature Made is an affordable choice with great health benefits, I recommend that you talk to your own doctor to decide what is right for you. If you decide that Nature Made is the way to go don’t forget about their “Wellness Rewards” program where you enter the codes found on their bottles to redeem for coupons and other great rewards.

Ebates: Rebates for Online Purchases
Today I want to tell everyone about Ebates, my favorite rebate program. Even though I have written several posts about a good deal I’ve found and included a line at the bottom about shopping through Ebates, I realize it’s been a while since I’ve explained what Ebates really is.
A few examples of said posts:
– Bath & Body Works 3% Cash Back
Yesterday I realized I may have not given Ebates the full description and praise it deserves when my husband came to me with a rather big Ebates check and said, “Is this real”? Of course it is real! I feel that I must have failed you all if my husband wasn’t even aware of Ebates. 🙂
I have fallen in love with Ebates since my friend Heather introduced me to it a little over a year ago. It’s a great way to get cash back on the purchases you are already making. Think of all the money you could save on those holiday deals while avoiding the long lines!
Could you get excited about cash rebates on most of your online purchases? Sign-up with Ebates and when you do your shopping through Ebates you can earn cash back from hundreds of online stores. A few include eBay, JCPenney, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Overstock.com, Walmart, Kohl’s and Home Depot. Plus you get additional savings with exclusive coupons,
free shipping offers, and limited-time sales! This is a great way to get cash back on online purchases you would normally make anyway. You simply go to all the online stores you usually shop at by clicking on the link at Ebates – it’s a simple rebate program that is well worth a few extra seconds of your time. It’s can quickly put money back in your wallet!
They will put a $5 sign-up bonus into your account. As soon as you make your first $5 purchase through Ebates (from any store that offers cash back) then that $5 bonus is yours plus whatever cash-back percentage offered for that store. You will get paid that $5 sign-up bonus as soon as you earn at least $5.01 in cash back from your purchases.
Ebates is a great way to create your own cash rebate on most online purchases you make. As if that isn’t good enough…they give you easy access to some of the best coupon codes and promotions for your favorite stores.
3 Simple Steps:
1. Visit Ebates and sign-up.
2. Type in the name of the store in the top left-hand corner (i.e. Home Depot, Victoria’s Secret) then click “Search”.
3. Click on the store of your choice. You will see how much cash back you will earn (5% at Home Depot, 2% at Victoria’s Secret) and what coupons are available to use at that store.
Congratulations! You are now on your way to earning that percentage cash back on your purchase. Now wasn’t that easy! Don’t worry you can still use all the coupon codes you normally would. Ebates will even give you Ebates exclusive coupon codes but if you know of one you like better you can use that one instead. You have the option to receive a check in the mail every 3 months (when you earned at least $5.01 cash back in your account) or you can have your cash deposited into your PayPal account. This is honestly one of the easiest online rebate programs I’ve ever used. My rebates have been adding up fast even though I don’t make too many purchases online. So what are you waiting for? Go sign up with Ebates today! 🙂
Swagbucks: Get Paid to Search Online
If you are like me, you probably do a lot of searching online. If I need to find a how-to instructional, help spelling a word, a quick math problem, Google is my best friend.
I’ve been a fan of Swagbucks for quite some time now – so long that I can’t honestly remember where I first heard of it. Swagbucks is an awesome online search engine that rewards you for searching online.
At first, I thought “Okay, the gift cards are probably real but it must take years to get a small one.” I did some investigating and quickly learned that Swagbucks is super simple to sign up for and every blogger I spoke with about it loved them. One told me that they had earned over $100 in gift cards in just four months. I was in, it took me about one minute to sign up. There are no fees, no credit card required, and no phone number or address requested. If I remember correctly they only ask for your name, email, password, zip code, and birth date.
As soon as you sign up you are credited free points to your account (these vary depending on the special they are running, it could be from 3 to 30). When you download the toolbar you earn a few more points. After only 450 points earned, you can get a free $5 Amazon gift card. Or at 1,300 points, you can get a $10 Starbucks gift card. There are dozens of other prizes, too…including PayPal cash!
Now, I’m sure there are some of you thinking, “What’s the big deal if I only earn a $5 or $10 gift card every so often?” Well, you’re right, $10 isn’t that exciting but it’s a start and soon your earnings will be large before you know it. Want to know what I’m planning on buying with my many, many Amazon gift cards? Drum roll please….I’m going to buy fancy pants SLR digital camera for myself for Christmas! I’m very excited because I’ve wanted a good camera for a while but could not imagine spending hundreds on a camera. This feels like free money because I’ve done nothing out of the way to earn it- I would have done searches on Google anyway. For those wondering, I’ve also bought other people Birthday, Baby Shower, & Christmas gifts from my Swagbucks account, I’m not greedy with my bucks. 🙂
Want to know another way to earn Swagbucks? This is one that I haven’t taken advantage of before now. Tell others about Swagbucks! Surely you know other people who search the internet. Send them your referral link, and you’ll not only instantly receive points when they sign up but you’ll also earn points for the searching they do online. How crazy is that?
Well, sign up with me and then go and tell everyone you know about Swagbucks and soon you’ll be on your way to funding your entire Christmas budget with free gift cards from Swagbucks. Now that is something to get excited about!
For those of you who have a blog or a Facebook page you’ll especially want to share your referral link there.
Let’s review, Swagbucks…
– Is Free.
– Won’t rob you of your time.
– Could generate a nice stream of free gift cards for you.
So what are you waiting for? Go sign up for Swagbucks today! 🙂

The Most Important Appliance for a Busy Family
Calling Corporate
If you have a problem or issue with a store the best thing you can do is to call their main office (I recommend this only after you allow the manager to call corporate while you wait). It only takes a few minutes to file a complaint but it can save you some headaches in the future. Chances are it will take you less time to call the corporate office than you would spend arguing with cashier and store manager every time you go in that store.
What should you call about:
Any “new policy” that is completely different from what you know has been the policy in the past.
- “We can’t accept internet printed coupons”
- “We can’t stack a store coupon and manufacturer coupon”
- “We can’t use a coupon with a BOGO sale”
- “We can’t use coupons that cause an item to be free”
- “We can’t double coupons that cause an item to be free”
A cashier or store manager that treats you like a thief for using coupons. *Try hard not to take it personal, they are doing what they think is best.*
Any other good or bad experience. *Good experiences are great to share and will help encourage your store to continue to accept coupons*
You might feel like you are a bother and are wasting their time but trust me, there is a person at that office whose entire job is to answer the phone and take complaints and compliments. You won’t be keeping anyone from their job so don’t worry about that.
If you think you shouldn’t call because someone else will you have to realize that the more people who call and complain the more likely it will be that action will be taken to solve the problem.
What do you need:
Before you call get your store number or location handy (usually found on your receipt). This is needed for whether you call with a complaint or compliment.
If you are calling about a particular coupon they wouldn’t accept have it handy and be prepared to tell where you obtained the coupon.
If you are calling about a particular product have the item handy as they will need numbers printed on it.
If you have a compliment or complaint about a specific person then knowing their name should help.
