Pedigree Ambassador Update

Lucy Pup

While I try not to go on and on about my family here there is one family member that gets left out more than any other and that is our loveable dog Lucy.  She’s a rescued lab mix who weighs about 45 lbs and thinks she’s a lap dog.  You may remember that she was chosen to be a Pedigree Ambassador and I’m here to update you on how the dog food trial is going.

A few weeks ago Lucy started transitioning to Pedigree’s new recipe of dog food from her current brand.  We spent the first week gradually transitioning her diet by replacing 1/4 of her regular food with Pedigree and then half and half and so on until she was solely on Pedigree food.Pedigree Ambassador Badge

She has never been a big eater but she seems to like the Pedigree food as much as her old food.  She likes the bigger, softer pieces more than the rest because she’ll dig and eat those first.  Overall, I think she is very pleased with the food.

The transition went smoothly although I did notice her stool was a little runny and she was a bit gassier than normal.  I feel that this is caused by the change in dog food and not necessarily the dog food itself.  I haven’t noticed any changes in her teeth yet but her coat seems softer (or maybe that’s from all the rain we’ve had lately?).  I’m going to continue to feed her the Pedigree food and will report back soon with any updates.  In the mean time, you can follow @PedigreeUS on Twitter or check out the Pedigree Adoption Drive Facebook page.

Disclosure:  I wrote this review while participating in an Ambassador campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Pedigree and received dog food to facilitate my reviews and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
