Dads and Daughters

Daddy and Daughter

This photo kills me.  What i mean by killing me is that it makes my heart melt into a dripping puddle of love.

I don’t believe that there is much else in the world so sweet as seeing your tough, strong husband hold his tiny newborn daughter in his arms, and look into her eyes with all the adoration in the world.

I can’t help but wonder how my husband’s relationship with our daughter will change as the years go on.  Will she be Daddy’s little girl? Will they have conflict during the teenage years?

I know that the future holds all sorts of surprises for us, and it’s impossible to predict how things change, but I can only hope that my husband will always adore our little girl as much as he does in this moment, because it is truly one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen.

If you have a baby girl, do you completely melt when you see your husband’s interactions with her?

  1. I melt when I see my husband with the kids — period. He’s such an amazing father and my kiddos are incredibly blessed to have him.

I loved the first few moments with my husband and our children. Special memories. 🙂

Seeing my husband with my boys makes my heart melt, I can’t wait for our daughter to get here to see how he does then, he already gushes just talking about her!

I do melt. I can remember when she was born and how he took to being a dad so well. She is now 11 (going on 16) and they are still close, even though hormones are starting to effect her sweet, carefree spirit.

  5. Aww, that’s adorable!

  6. I have a girl but am not with her Dad. She used to be such a huge Daddy’s girl so yes when she was younger, like WAY baby age, it was so sweet how he just adored her and she him, now it’s not that way so it’s way total opposite for her…. I do think father’s and daughters usually have a different bond. I’m extremely close with my Dad.

I have an 11 month old son but I have the same feelings when I see them together or see photos of them especially since my son is like a mini-me to him. It is adorable. They are SO alike…and my husband enjoys every minute with our son and can’t get enough of him.

  9. Thank you so much for sharing. that is an adorable picture!

I always tell people that if I could have designed the perfect father for my children, it would be my husband. We have two girls (4 and 1), and he cannot even go to the bathroom without someone throwing a fit that he left!

Those early years are the best between Daddy and Daughter, but the lucky girls have that relationship all their lives.

One of the reasons I fell in love with my hubby. He has a baby brother who at the time was just a baby. He was so good with him and it melted my heart. Six years later he is an amazing father to my two boys.

I only have a boy but it’s the same thing- seeing him gush over our tot’s accomplishments (or even just his existence, in the beginning} is so heartwarming!

  16. You bet I do. There is something so endearing about watching my husband with his “girls”. It’s a combination of feelings and emotions that touches my heart and strengthens the love I have for him.
