To keep potatoes from growing eyes and spoiling, place a whole apple in the bowl, bag or bin where you store your potatoes.  Remember to store your potatoes in a cool dry place.  It’s also a good idea to remove any potatoes that have a bad spot to keep the rest of the potatoes from spoiling.  You know what they say, “one bad apple ruins the bunch.”  The same is true with potatoes!
