Here are the Groundhog Day Cupcakes I made for a little get-together I’m going to tonight. I took simple chocolate cupcakes, covered them with green sprinkles, and added one chocolate Teddy Graham to each. This was a simple and fun treat to make!
I chose the chocolate Teddy Grahams but you could choose the original which is a very light tan or the cinnamon which is a medium brown. I recommend making sure your store has green sprinkles unless you want to be like me and very carefully pick the green ones out of a multicolored pack. {I don’t recommend this!} If your store doesn’t have green sprinkles you could always opt for green icing instead of chocolate.
Be aware that Teddy Grahams come in two different shapes, with arms up {pictured} and with their arms to their side. I tried them both but quickly noticed the one with it’s arms down looked like a sad teddy bear trying to escape being buried alive. Not a good kid-friendly image. The arms up bear is much happier in my opinion.
You are probably saying to yourself, “a bear is not a ground hog.” Yes, you would be right. Teddy Grahams are bears but that’s pretty close to a groundhog in looks, right? Close enough for kids anyway! I hope you’ve enjoyed my simple Groundhog’s Day Cupcakes and will give them a try yourself. If you do, I would love to see your pictures or a link to them on your blog.
If you like these cupcakes you may be interested in the ones I made for my daughter’s Pink Lemonade Birthday Party.
Happy Groundhog’s Day everyone!!!
Those are SO cute!!
how cute are these cupcakes, such a cute idea, thanks!
Would be so much better if it were a groundhog cookie instead of a teddygram lol
These are so cute and look so yummy! Pinning them to save since they are good inspiration for other themed parties. =)
Those are cute and easy to make. The bear is a nice touch.
