Nature Made was the first OTC brand to launch a Prenatal Multivitamin with 200mg DHA in one single softgel so that expecting moms/nursing moms would only have to take 1 softgel per day.
One softgel offers:
200mg DHA
800mg Folic Acid
Vitamins A,C,D and Zinc
Iron
B – Complex (Vitamins B6, B12)
EPA/DHA, Niacin
What is DHA?
DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid that plays an important role in brain development, especially during the critical period of fetal development and infancy. DHA is transferred directly from the mother to the fetus during brain and retina development or to the infants through breastfeeding. Recommended DHA dose is 200-300 mg/day.
What is Folic Acid?
Folic acid, sometimes called folate, is a B vitamin (B9) found mostly in leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, orange juice, and enriched grains. Repeated studies have shown that women who get 400 micrograms or more (0.4 milligrams) daily prior to conception and during early pregnancy may reduce the risk that their baby will be born with a serious neural tube defect (a birth defect involving incomplete development of the brain and spinal cord) by up to 70%.
How do the the vitamins, iron, etc. play a part in overall health?
Vitamins A, C, D & Zinc – Support Immune System Health
Iron – Supports Blood Cell Production
B – Complex (Vitamins B6, B12) – Supports Energy Metabolism
EPA/DHA, Niacin – Support Heart and Circulatory Health
My Thoughts:
My family doctor recommended that I start taking Prenatal vitamins a year or so before I even thought about trying to get pregnant. I’ve always liked Nature Made products in general and I think it’s great that they now have a OTC Prenatal vitamin in one softgel pill. I’m not sure about everyone’s insurance but if a company didn’t cover Prenatal vitamins I’m sure Nature Made would be a first choice for them!
While Nature Made is an affordable choice with great health benefits, I recommend that you talk to your own doctor to decide what is right for you. If you decide that Nature Made is the way to go don’t forget about their “Wellness Rewards” program where you enter the codes found on their bottles to redeem for coupons and other great rewards.

This is baby #4 and we are eating the best we ever have. Lots of fruit and veggies. Also with our youngest just turning two I get LOTS of motion!
We are expecting our 2nd baby and one thing I do to keep healthy is to always make sure I include extra fruits and veggies into my diet!
I drink tons of water and give up my caffiene drinks for a healthier pregnancy.

I get plenty of sleep, which is hard being 32 weeks pregnant with a 10 year old son and a 10 month old daughter to care for. I also eat healthy, drink tons of water, limit junk food, and laugh hard and often…Otherwise I would lose my mind, lol

I do a LOT to make sure my pregnancies are healthy. I am 2x surrogate, going for my third journey now, and so it’s very important to me to stay healthy for the baby that I am carrying for someone else!
I drink plenty of water (around 100 oz a day), I count my protein intake to make sure I’m getting at least 80-100 grams (140+ when I was carrying twins). Protein is SO important during pregnancy!
THANK YOU!!

First of all make a real effort to prepare and eat unprocessed organic and healthy foods. You should eat within reason and not load up on junk so that you gain tons of weight.

How much is a banner ad on this site? 250×250 gif for run of the site?
Lindsey, I’ve emailed you our ad prices.
Most people nowadays are very conscious of what goes into the tablets that they pop inside their mouths and the same goes for vitamins. If we do not want to go the traditional way, alternative vitamins are also now available for over-the-counter purchases.
