I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for CVS MinuteClinic. I received promotional items as a thank you for participating.
My entire family was just hit hard with a massive 48 hour stomach bug. 48 hours seems like a short period of time unless you have the bug. I’ll spare you the details but It. Was. Rough! Luckily for us our CVS is just up the road and has a MinuteClinic inside.
The MinuteClinic is a walk-in clinic located in select CVS/pharmacy stores in 28 states and DC. They are open seven days a week and they even have evening hours. The best part is, you don’t need to make an appointment! In the past I was able to go in and get a flu shot one evening while my husband was able to be home and watch my daughter for me. That was so convenient! It was much nicer than making an appointment, dealing with a little one in a germ-filled waiting room, and then trying to keep her still and my arm relaxed while I get a shot. Just thinking of that scenario makes me nervous!
The MinuteClinic is a convenient and affordable option. It may be hard to get a last minute appointment at your doctor’s office {or an evening appointment!} and the ER and urgent care/med express centers have much longer wait times and higher costs. CVS is a great one-stop shop for all of your cold and flu needs! You can get diagnosed, get your prescription, get over the counter meds, and stock up on chicken noodle soup and Gatorade while you’re there.
Cold and flu symptoms can be quite similar so check out this great chart below to determine if you have the common cold or if you are actually suffering from the flu! {Feel free to bookmark this page or pin this chart for an easy reference later.}
I hope that you and your family are staying well this winter but if you get under the weather don’t forget to check and see if you have a MinuteClinic near you. Follow @MinuteClinic on Twitter to stay connected with MinuteClinic!
I need to see if our local store offers this. We have 2 urgent/after hours places to choose from, and one is kind of… well, I’d rather not go there and the other is usually pretty busy!
Ugh, sorry to hear you guys were all hit. Hope you’re feeling loads better now! I’d LOVE to have one of these clinics in our town. We have a few CVS pharmacies (2 are even 24 hours!), but no walk-in clinics at them yet.
It’s no fun getting sick Christmas time. 🙁 We sadly don’t have a CVS Minute Clinic close by.
I love that CVS Minute Clinic has evening hours AND that no appointment is needed!
I hope you all are feeling MUCH better!!
So sorry to hear that you guys were all hit at once! I can’t decide if its worse to go one after another or all at once. **shudder** Glad you are all on the mend. Thanks for the great little handout. I’m going to use that as a resource for my day home families!
Our local CVS doesn’t have a Minute Clinic but it sure would be helpful!
Hope you all feel better soon. Minute Clinic sounds like a great option!
I really wish we had these here in central IL. It’s impossible to get an appointment with my doctor and then it’s over $100 for an office visit, which can be impossible to come up with sometimes.
We need one of these! Our local walk-in clinic was so packed Sunday we had to leave without treatment.
ooh I hope your family feels better. I wish we had a CVS near us. I hear so many great things about them.
Sorry to hear you were hit with a bug – I hope you are feeling better now!
Wow, that is very convenient! I have heard about this before, I’ll definitely keep them in mind in the future.
Our local CVS recently opened a Minute Clinic in it, about 5 minutes away. Although we haven’t had to use it yet, it’s nice to know we have that option so close by. 🙂
we’ve gone to minute clinic a few times. VERY convenient!
CVS is the only pharmacy I use and I am not familiar with the MinuteClinic. I will certainly have to see if it is offered in my area. Thanks for sharing.
ive been sick since before Thanksgiving,we have a CVS about 10 miles away but it doesn’t have a Clinic in it,I sure wish it did,ill have to ask them why not?
I love the chart! Sometimes it’s so hard to tell what you’re actually suffering from.
This is definitely a helpful chart. We use CVS minute clinic and love it!
CVS is one of my fav places to shop. I must go there 5 times a weeK!
I wish we had one of these near home
I wish we had a CVS closer to us – our regular doctor can never seem to get us in when we’re sick!
We have a CVS but I haven’t used the MinuteClinic yet. Sounds like a great service for those that don’t have a regular doctor.
I wonder if this is at a CVS near me! I hate waiting for my doctor, especially on the weekends and evening.
we were at a cvs minute clinic on christmas eve. 3rd year in a row. they should give out awards!
I’m going to start using them for vaccines! My dr’s office takes forever!!
I love that CVS has this in some of their stores.
We love the CVS clinic! In fact I think we are going this week for flu shots!
I love the clinic. It is so much easier for me than a dr appt.
i haven’t tried a clinic before but i’m impressed to hear the experience.
