I desperately wanted to travel,West Africa in particular.I finally managed to save and I travelled to Ghana. This opened my eyes and although some family members thought I lost my mind most people where supportive.I made so many friends through chatting online. They are from Nigeria,Ghana,Sierra Leone,Togo,Gambia etc. Each one iso passionate about their Motherland. It rubs off and makes it easy to learn to love. The people are by far the most respectful, polite and friendly of anywhere I've known.Generosity is massive amongst West Africans as they welcomed me into their homes to eat with their families. This was the best experience of my life and I could never put a price on my visit.West Africa is home to the most beautiful scenery for eg white sandy beaches with topaz blue waters. The weather is beautiful but can get extremely hot so check that out before you book.Accomodation is basic but you probably won't spend anytime indoors anyway. One thing to remember are the unfortunate power cuts. This can be a nuisance if like me you rely on bowdrying your hair haha.Like any other destination you have to be careful not to look too touristy as cab drivers, market sellers or waiting staff can push a little hard for BIG tips.Common sense is the key.Always be respectful and I'm certain you will have an amazing time.Bon voyage!xx
