I think this would be a great thing for all states to follow. I am sick of local governments getting themselves into holes, and then in turn putting the burden on it’s citizens. Our taxes go up, up, and up, but we don’t know what we are being held accountable for.

I don’t like when they add the extra charges. Here in california, sometimes when you eat with a group, they automatically add the gratuity on. For me, sometimes I might have gave more and if they take their fee, I am not giving them anything extra.

a couple years ago in Ontario they implemented an environmental tax on many household cleaning products, it caused a lot of uproar. some of the taxes were removed, rolled into the overall coat of the item. We do still have charges for ‘environmental fees’ for almost all work on a vehicle, for discarding oil, or tires…
